There’s some encouraging news for women and girls wishing to make it to the top of the corporate ladder: for the first time in history, a major auto company has both a female CEO and a female CFO. As of September 2018, General Motors’ CEO, Mary Berra, was joined by Dhivya Suryadevara as the company’s CFO. It’s clear, however, that much work still needs to be done; only 23 companies in the Fortune 500 have a female CEO, while Hershey is the only other company on the list to have both positions filled by women.
